New Velvet for the Sons of the Desert

Starting January 2026 our Sons of the Desert fezzes will be made with a new shade of velvet. On the left is the previous velvet that has been around for over 6 years, on the right is the new velvet that better matches the felt color used in the original movie.

This new velvet is a bit more brick red than blood red and has a more matte finish with a crisp hand.

Now I would love to say that this was a completely artistic decision, but the reality is we have run out of the previous velvet and with supplies chains as limited as they currently are, this is the best fabric that was available to us.

The good news is: we have loaded up on this new velvet so we probably won't be seeing another change anytime soon.
