This past weekend we took part in the H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival at the beautiful Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro California. It is always a treat to visit this amazing example of Art Deco and this time we had an amazing event to attend. This being our first time vending at the HPL Fest we had no idea of what to expect. Simply put we were blown away! The organizers did an amazing job. The volunteers were fantastic, it was great meeting all sorts of cool people and the films were a blast. Now admittedly I didn’t get to spend much time watching the movies since we were busy running our booth on the gorgeous art deco mezzanine but even that was a while lot of fun. I did manage to see the HPLHS production of The Whisperer in the Darknessand loved every minute of it!
Oddly enough, I think my favorite part of the weekend was spending time with the other vendors. That was a dizzying collection of some of the coolest and most creative people I have had the pleasure to meet. I’m afraid I may go insane waiting for next year’s HPL Fest to return to town.
