Fezzy Artwork
Part of the reason for the recent silence on this blog is represented here. Not only did I spend the last weekend in Oakland throwing balls across oyster shells but prior to that I was hard at work creating the illustration you see here.
You can see the obvious fez influences -including the inspiration for the Wing Nut Fez- as well as my developing obsession with higher primates that threatens to obscure the rest of my work. This was my first illustration style piece done on the computer. Most of my stuff in the past has been vector based design work or simply hand roughs used for designing embroidery. This is the first "print" I have done.
Now the really cool part!
The Lunds printed up a number of these posters (14"x11") and are selling them to raise funds for our favorite cancer charity. I signed and numbered 25 of them -13 were sold at the event. The rest of those as well as a good deal of non-numbered ones will soon be available online if you are interested. The proceeds will be going to benefit the City of Hope.
