#63 The Tomainian Fez

Tomainian This week we continue our series of early 20th Century fictional nation state fezzes. This also continues my ongoing series of tributes to my comedy idols. The Tomainian Fez is the reason we picked up the camel colored velvet in the first place. It is a fez fit for the Phooey himself! The Tomainian Fez features the traditional double cross on a red velvet background and in this photo features a rather traditional red tassel, all on a low profile camel velvet fez. Like the Freedonian Fez, we will be setting these up as a pre-order for anyone interested. They will be available to order for the rest of the month and production will start in July. For those of you that don’t get the reference, this is hanging on the wall of our bedroom,  it is one of the first things I see every day… which may give you a disturbing insight into my mental state most mornings.

    The Great Dictator:
    Jewish Barber (Charles Chaplin) :
“You, the people, have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to
make this life a wonderful adventure. Then in the name of democracy,
let us use that power. Let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a
decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give youth a
future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes
have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfill that promise.
They never will! Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people.
Now let us fight to fulfill that promise. Let us fight to free the
world! To do away with national barriers! To do away with greed, with
hate and intolerance! Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where
science and progress will lead to all men’s happiness. Soldiers, in the
name of democracy, let us all unite! "
