This is the prototype of the Pele Fez that debuted at Tiki Oasis 9 this past August. This fez features my Pele design that languished in my sketchbook for well over a year. Originally I intended to have the hair represented by a root ball but just couldn't get the look I wanted for Pele. I'm sure she is much happier with her current 'do.The only difference between the prototype and the final run is a slight color variation. Here the details of the face are rendered in a dark brown as opposed to black in the production run. This creates a more subtle visage and a bit of a vintage feel for the fez.
